Just Ron had a vasectomy after our youngest was born in 2007. We were thoroughly confused by the flip=flopping and vague admonishments in the magazines. We finally decided to do what we thought was best because we were approaching 40, already had 3 kids, and pregnancy was really hard on me.

by Splash incan you be sexually sterilised?no, it is absolutely wrong - w59 7/1 p. 416 questions from readers.

no, it is harmful - w61 12/1 p. 735 questions from readers.

how is it that some fade out of the org and others seem to be pushed?
by sowhatnow ini cant figure out how some persons like my husband and son, simply got too 'busy' and gradually stopped going to meetings, and were totally left alone, and yet some persons.
seem to indicate that people were constantly in persuit of them, for a way to disfellowship them.. the ones who fade never get 'disfellowshiped' unless they write a letter formally requesting thier name be of the membership.. just like the jw org tells people who get baptised to do to thier former church,.
i havent been to a meeting in a few months however it is also under a 'remodel' im sure im not missed.

if they haven't pestered your husband or son, they probably won't pester you. if you don't talk about your doubts or disbelief, they'll probably ignore you

I remember getting a lecture about handing out invitations to a "get together" at the hall. I mailed most of them, but a few people didn't have addresses listed in the phone book, so I handed them out at the hall. Boy was that a giant no-no, conducting personal business at the hall.

Elder ignores me at Walgreens here in Milwaukee.
by Joliette ina month ago i went to walgreens to get some snacks and a newspaper.
i was walking out when i noticed an elder that i grew up with walking towards me.
he kinda looked in my direction, the turned his head away and kept walking with his nose in the air.

It's offensive, but at least you don't have to listen to him ranting on about how you need to come back to the hall.

Would you do this to your kids? Is this cold or am I crazy?
by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

It's tacky and cheap to charge immediate family members for anything - even things you do for income from the general public. The *only* excuse for charging an immediate family member for something like DJing a party is if it required you to turn down a paying gig to do it, or passing up a paying tenant in favor of a family member. And there is zero excuse ever for charging family more than market rates.

Convention Season-"Saving Good Seats" & Other Embarrassing Behavior
by Darth Fader The Sequel insince it is the convention season (and i am not attending this year or ever again), and i have been seeing other posts about some of the goings on at the various ic's and rc's, i am reminded of some of the truly embarrassing behavior i have "witnessed" (pun intended) over my lifetime of being a jdub at the various conventions and assemblies.
probably the most disillusioning experience at a convention that i have ever had was one year when i volunteered to be an attendant.
all of the volunteers were asked to attend a special meeting a few months beforehand to get instructions for our duties as attendants.

None of the venues I went to for assemblies were designed or suitable for all day events. The seats were invariably miserable, especially with all the book bags and coolers in the way. I hated going and I'm so glad I never have to endure that again.

By the time you get a wage garnishment, you've already blown your opportunity to make things better. You should have responded to the first notice, not responding really chaps them off. Even if you can't pay the entire bill on time, always file the return on time because you avoid the failure to file penalty. If you are making regular payments, any taxing body is less likely to serve a garnishment on you and more likely to allow you to make a payment plan. If you dispute the amount of tax they say you owe, you should consult a CPA to see if you are still able to file an amended return or present evidence that the tax isn't actually due.
